Save the Children Design Sprint

Feb 2020

How Save the Children UK started solving early language development with a Design Sprint.

I ran a Design Sprint with the Innovation Team at Save the Children to help them answer the question of "how might we support parents to build their children’s language and communication skills?"

  • 1 week Design Sprint
  • Prototyped multiple solutions in paper
  • User tested at a local nursery school at key times
  • Feedback led to an iteration sprint
  • Bespoke Design Sprint Kit created to suit their needs

"The sprint methodology has enabled us to compress many weeks’ worth of work into a single week. Sprints allow us to receive and act on user feedback early in the development process, thereby ensuring we reach our beneficiaries with solutions that truly respond to their core needs and to do this in a cost effective manner."
